Harbourside Hotel Terms and Conditions

1. Introduction.

This website is maintained up to date and is intended, in all respects, to give our prospective guests a true reflection of our establishment and our service. All facilities and conditions must be subject to availability and these terms and conditions. Harbourside is a friendly and happy establishment who aim to provide what we advertise and what our individual guests request. We have not found it necessary to hide behind long legal small print and these term and conditions are written to protect our guests as well as to make it possible for us to continue in business.

2. The Booking Contract.

A reservation can be made by phone, email, fax, and letter or by completing the reservation form. Bookings can be made in person at Harbourside.

3. Booking Confirmation.

a. Confirmation of a Booking will be made by email, fax, or letter from Harbourside Hotel.

b. Confirmation can also be given over the phone when Harbourside Hotel Staff complete and sign a Booking Slip on behalf of a guest.

c. Confirmation will only be given when the Guest’s valid Credit or Debit Card has been satisfactorily recorded. (This will usually be done over the phone or by fax) On line booking will be available when we consider it best suits both our guests and Harbourside.

d. OUR GUARANTEE Once a Booking is confirmed, Harbourside will honour the booking (For BED & BREAKFAST) as recorded on the unique Booking Slip specifically prepared for each guest. Where extra services are requested these will be actioned to the best of our ability but may depend on third parties who we do not control. E.g. (Restaurant bookings) (Only the invalidation of the Proprietors or the Hotel will cause this guarantee to become invalid. OR the cancellation of the booking by the guest. See cancellation details below).

4. Booking a Specific Bedroom Suite.

a. The following restrictions apply to the booking of a particular bedroom suite. The particular room will not be part of the booking guarantee if booked for less than three days. It will be provided if available but if booked for a long period by another guest, the first booking will be allocated another room of the same bed configuration. (Double. Single etc) If upgraded there will be no extra charge and if moved to a less expensive suite the appropriate reduction will be made on the guest’s bill.

b. Should there be any problems outside of our control concerning the particular booking of any room the guest will be informed and given the opportunity to rebook. (Such as Power or Maintenance factors or Acts of God).

5. B&B Price

a. Harbourside’s Tariff clearly shows the basic charges for Bed and Breakfast per person.

b. THE CONTRACT PRICE will be the price that is offered when replying to the initial booking. The contract price will regularly be less than the tariff price for reasons far to numerous to detail here. A very basic list of reasons affecting the price is as follows. Demand (Bank Holidays etc), season, (Fits in with Harbourside’s plans) length of stay, requirements of guest, number of rooms booked, method of payment, (Amex costs us much more than Visa or MasterCard, who should bear this cost?) We know the answer! Etc etc.

c. DISCOUNTS. Harbourside does not barter concerning the price that is offered when replying to the initial booking. Our quote has already taken into account all the known factors that the booking attracts. E.g. If you have booked a double room at tariff price for a period exceeding 6 days you will get a quote which will include a discount on the tariff price (built into our quoting system) of at least £50. If the booking fits in perfectly with Harbourside’s planning an automatic discount will be included in the Contract Price.

6. Cancellation & Deposits

a. A DEPOSIT OF 10% is due on confirmation of booking. If the booking is cancelled with less than two weeks the 10% will not attract a refund. If the booking is cancelled at any time, an administration charge, appropriate to the work involved on the booking is payable. This charge is for the direct costs incurred by Harbourside and not to any lost business may have been involved. For a standard booking arrangement it will not exceed the 10% deposit.

b. CANCELLATION POLICY. A booking cancelled less than four full days before the date of arrival will incur payment of the full Contract Price. If Harbourside are able to re-let the rooms, up to 90% of the cancellation cost will be refunded.

c. FOR BOOKINGS MADE MORE THAN TWO MONTHS IN ADVANCE the period of cancellation will be doubled to 8 full days before the arrival date. (We will have turned away many more prospective guests).
